Frequently asked questions
Will a Bluetooth tracker replace a GPS pet collar?
Not in open country. A Bluetooth tag is found by phones walking past it, so it works in neighbourhoods, towns and campsites and not across an empty field. It is the right product for the dog that slips a gate in a built-up area, and the wrong one for a working animal on open pasture.
Does the collar holder fit a cat?
Yes on the lightweight listings. Tell us the collar width and the animal size and we will quote the holder that matches rather than the one in the standard pack.
Can the tag go through airport baggage handling?
The housing is plastic ABS and the tag has no cellular radio, so it travels as ordinary luggage. The value is at the other end: the last known position shows on the map while a bag is still missing.
How does the voice alert work?
Selected models read the last known position out loud from the app instead of requiring the user to interpret a map. It is the feature that makes the product usable for elderly owners and for young children.
Is there a subscription?
No. There is no SIM and no cellular module, so there is nothing to subscribe to. The buyer replaces a button cell when it runs down, or recharges on the models that take a charge.
