A pocket-size wireless CarPlay adapter that plugs straight into the car USB-C port

The SUNDA YD-TP04 is a wireless CarPlay adapter built for cars that already have wired CarPlay over USB-C. Plug it into the dashboard USB-C socket, pair the iPhone once over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and from then on the phone connects to CarPlay automatically every time the engine starts — no Lightning cable, no daily plug-in. The body is a small silver puck that sits flush with the dashboard trim, with a fixed USB-C male connector and a single face panel that carries the SUNDAREE wordmark and the CarPlay wordmark on the front.

Inside, the adapter runs a 5-volt DC bus straight off the car USB-C port. Power draw is 0.75 W at idle, which means it stays connected without heating up the USB-C socket and does not pull meaningful current from the car battery when the ignition is off. The shell is ABS with a polished silver finish, the face panel is a glass-effect lens that hides the status LED, and the whole unit weighs less than a small car-key fob.

It works with any car that has factory wired CarPlay over USB-C, including recent Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Ford, Hyundai, Kia, Volvo, VW and BMW models. The iPhone side supports iOS 10 and above, iPhone 6 and newer. Stock runs ship from 10 pcs, OEM/ODM branding starts at 500 pcs per batch.

What you are buying

Plug-and-go wireless CarPlay over USB-C

The YD-TP04 plugs directly into the car’s USB-C port using the fixed USB-C male connector on the back of the unit. There is no separate cable, no bracket, no suction cup. The first time the unit is plugged in, it powers up, broadcasts a Bluetooth and 5 GHz Wi-Fi network, and the iPhone pairs to it through the standard CarPlay setup flow. After that, the connection happens automatically — start the car, the phone pairs in under 5 seconds, CarPlay launches on the head unit.

Dual-band Wi-Fi for low-latency audio and maps

Wireless CarPlay needs both Bluetooth (for the initial handshake and telephony) and Wi-Fi (for the actual CarPlay data stream). The YD-TP04 uses a 5 GHz Wi-Fi radio for the CarPlay data path, which gives enough bandwidth for uncompressed CarPlay audio, turn-by-turn map tiles, and the touch-screen response to feel as quick as a wired connection. The 2.4 GHz fallback handles the initial Bluetooth pairing and falls back automatically if the 5 GHz signal is weak.

Low power draw that does not drain the car battery

Power input is DC 5 V at 0.15 A, and idle consumption is 0.75 W. That is well below the USB-C port’s suspend current, so the unit stays in a low-power listen state when the car is parked without draining the battery over a week of standing. There is no fan, no moving parts, and the ABS shell dissipates the small amount of heat that the radio generates through the face panel.

Why buyers add it to the range

  • Converts a factory wired CarPlay head unit to wireless CarPlay without any dashboard modification.
  • No Lightning cable to plug in every drive — the iPhone pairs automatically when the engine starts.
  • 5 GHz Wi-Fi data path keeps CarPlay audio and maps feeling responsive, comparable to a wired connection.
  • Compact silver puck body sits flush with the dashboard trim, does not block adjacent ports or controls.
  • 0.75 W idle draw does not drain the car battery during long parking periods.
  • Works across iPhone 6 and newer on iOS 10 and above — covers the majority of iPhones still on the road.
  • Single model covers multiple car brands (Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Ford, Hyundai, Kia, VW, Volvo, BMW), simplifying SKU management.
  • Clean OEM/ODM path — face panel logo and packaging can be customized from 500 pcs per batch.

OEM and ODM options

The YD-TP04 platform can be OEM-branded or ODM-customized from 500 pcs per batch. OEM keeps the standard silver-and-black shell and replaces the face panel wordmark with the buyer logo. ODM extends to shell color, face lens color, packaging artwork, and the bundled quick-start manual language set.

  • OEM face panel wordmark (single color print on the face lens)
  • OEM packaging (white box, neutral print, EAN barcode)
  • ODM shell color (silver / black / custom Pantone match, MOQ 1000 pcs)
  • ODM face lens color (smoke, blue, gold tint available on request)
  • ODM bundled manual (English, Spanish, German, French on file; other EU languages on request)
  • ODM bundled insert card with buyer QR code or support URL

FAQ

Will the YD-TP04 work in any car?

It works in any car that already has factory wired CarPlay over a USB-C port. Cars with only USB-A ports need a USB-A-to-USB-C adapter or a different SUNDA model. Cars with no factory CarPlay at all (older head units without CarPlay support) are not supported by this adapter.

Will it work with an iPhone in a case?

Yes. Wireless CarPlay uses Bluetooth and Wi-Fi — the phone does not need to be removed from its case for the connection to work. Thick metal cases or cases with built-in battery packs can weaken the Bluetooth signal but usually do not block the connection.

Does it use the car’s GPS, or does it have its own?

Wireless CarPlay uses the iPhone’s GPS. The YD-TP04 is just a wireless bridge — the phone sits in your pocket or bag and provides maps, traffic, and turn-by-turn directions over the Wi-Fi link to the head unit.

Can I pair more than one iPhone?

Yes. The YD-TP04 stores pairing info for multiple iPhones. The first iPhone in the car at start-up connects automatically. To switch phones, open the iPhone’s Bluetooth settings and tap the adapter’s name; the next time the car starts, the new phone connects.

Does it support Android Auto?

No. The YD-TP04 is a wireless CarPlay adapter only. For wireless Android Auto, SUNDA offers a separate adapter model. Wireless CarPlay and wireless Android Auto use different radio protocols and cannot share one adapter.

What happens if the car is parked for weeks?

The YD-TP04 idle draw is 0.75 W, which is below the USB-C port’s suspend threshold. Most cars cut power to the USB-C port when the ignition is off, so the adapter draws nothing while parked. On cars that leave the USB-C port powered, the 0.75 W drain over a month of standing is roughly 0.5 Ah — well below what a healthy car battery can absorb.
